From set design to taste workshop

In the 1970s, Andreina De Cesare left Rome, where she worked as a theatre costume designer, for Sicily. Her creativity met the world of sweets in an unexpected way: a scenic cake, a New Year's Eve dinner, an inquisitive entrepreneur - and so the first order giving rise to Mamma Andrea's Peccatucci was born. From the veranda of her home, Andreina turns her talent for the beautiful and the good into an art: telling emotions through taste.

“While still pondering what I would do when I grew up, I was invited to a New Year's New Year's Eve dinner at a friend's house. I made a cake impressive cake that was an incredible success. an incredible success. Among the guests was a wealthy businessman who made me a proposal: he would buy 100 of all the cakes of all the sweets I could offer him. I accepted. I started working on the veranda I invented 47 types and he kept his word, he bought them all. his word, he bought them all. Thus were born I Mamma Andrea's Peccatucci.”

The workshop grows, the shop comes to life, and with it a new way of understanding confectionery.

Andreina fuses the sensitivity of theatre with a love for the Sicilian confectionery tradition.

Each cake is a small scene: a balance of aromas, colours and textures.

Thanks to the contribution of the noble women who hand down the ancient recipes in Mrs Andreina's workshop, a work of attention and preservation of tastes and flavours begins.

The packaging - once hand-painted, now made of precious papers - becomes part of the experience, a symbol of a brand that “can also be tasted with the eyes”.”

Peccatucci di Mamma Andrea is a laboratory of continuous research. From grandmothers’ recipes to new collections of liqueurs, savoury preserves and jams, each product is born out of respect for natural rhythms and a passion for experimentation. The philosophy is simple: innovate without betraying tradition. The raw materials, for more than 80% zero km, are processed within 24 hours of harvesting to preserve fragrance and authenticity. A sweetness that comes from the earth, worked with care and respect.

“My creativity and passion for the flavours of yesteryear prompted me to recover the lost fruits of traditional of Sardinian and Sicilian cuisine such as lumias and black mulberry. It was like stepping back back in time: the town's old women would come to the shop to reveal their recipes, eager to relive the sweetness of their childhood".
